Not only is it delicious, but it nourishes and satisfies in the way that only a dessert-like “milk-shaky” protein smoothie can do. Because it’s got a good combo of protein, fat and natural sweetness, it will fill you up, satisfy sugar cravings and give you tons of energy to power through your day!
Cashews are one of the best ways to add creamy richness to many recipes, and work incredibly well in a smoothie. Always use raw, unsalted cashews. I recommended soaking your cashews (and dates) either overnight or for at least an hour or so. Soaking nuts and seeds makes the nutrients in them more available and easier to digest. If you forget, no big deal, it will still turn out delicious!
Cashews are also a great protein source! I have added even more protein, fiber and nutrients by adding hemp seeds and ground flax. The teaspoon of coconut oil adds another layer of creaminess and provides a metabolism and energy boost for your body!

Cashew Cream Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/3 cup raw, unsalted cashews (preferably soaked)
2 pitted dates (soaked for at least 20 minutes)
1 frozen banana
1 cup almond milk
3 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp ground flax
1 tsp coconut oil
Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!
